Jim Rook, Ph.D.

Jim is Chief Investment Officer at PlanFIRST℠, a Senior Advisor and a member of the Leadership Team. Jim also serves as Chairman of the firm's investment committee.

Jim received a degree in economics from the State University of New York at Fredonia. He then received his master’s degree and his Ph.D. in economics from North Carolina State University. He is still a huge fan of the North Carolina State Wolfpack sports teams. Jim taught economics at Wake Forest University and Auburn University.

While working for Milliken & Company, he was responsible for overseeing more than $1 billion of retirement assets. He is a regular speaker at retirement planning seminars, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. 

Jim attends St. James United Methodist Church, where he serves as the Stewardship Committee chair. He enjoys reading and traveling with his wife, Sarah, and two daughters.
